It may seem so, as the government provides elderly Filipinos with senior citizen discount and other perks to help ease their finances in their golden years. As a millennial, you may be 30 to 40 years away from enjoying those privileges, but it helps to learn about them now, especially if you're looking after your parents or grandparents. Yes, they need your help in knowing and asserting their rights under the senior citizen law.
Maria Guzman is the president of a senior citizen in Dupax Del Sur Nueva Vizcaya. The Senior Citizen is a mortuary program that every member obliged to pay their contribution and annual dues, the president will coordinate with local government unit and Barangay. Guzman and the officials of senior citizen work without an honorarium.
Every new member will pay 100 upon registration and the member must pay 100 for their annual dues and for special mortuary fund a member will receive 1,000 pesos. The basic assistance for seniors will be receiving 6000 pesos. Incentives for every member will be 25% for 3 months, 50% for 6 months and 95% for every 9 months.
