Skyler's Farm Soilless Potting Mix- Bagabag, Nueva Vizcaya

Skyler's Farm Soilless Potting Mix might look like soil, but it’s actually just a mix of organic matter like vermicast, bat manure among others. Many soilless potting mixes also have grains of slow-release fertilizer, which is included to provide nutrients to growing seedlings. Some growers also use a diluted nutrient mix, which isn’t necessary, but seedlings will need nutrition in one form or another.

Christian Corral of National Highway Villa Coloma Bagabag, Nueva Vizcaya had established Skyler's Farm, the only soilless potting mix in region 2 which offers a premium blend of carbonized rice hull-husks that are removed from each grain of rice after harvest, Vermicast-is a mixture of earthworm castings and uneaten bedding and feedstock harvested from worm beds. This means that we started with organic materials, Worm tea is ultimately the end result of steeping worm castings-, Humus- is the dark organic material in soils, produced by the decomposition of vegetable or animal matter and Bat manure-has a long history of use as a soil enricher. It is obtained from only fruit and insect-feeding species and (NPK) a natural fertilizer that allows you to grow beautiful flowers and vegetables, giving you the gorgeous result you deserve.

The component of Skyler Farm soilless potting mix is all-natural organic ingredients, natural fertilizers, instantly feeds, provides both quick and continues the release of nutrient feeding for vibrant flowers and vegetables, air and root can easily penetrate, sterilized ( to ensure germination, quick, vigorous and healthy plant growth, prevent soil-borne diseases and weed infestation.) and microbial activity [ mineralized organic nutrients as food for the plants, for growth and development].

Malabing Centro, Kasibu, Nueva Vizcaya, The above-named farms started from its grassroots humble beginnings in the year 1987 up to the present. As the said farm was established, coupled with family hard work, patience, and full trust of God's providence, and cooperative joint efforts of the family, the farms were able to overcome the challenges of farming at its very core.

Manual farming though it was tough and energy-consuming, all of the family's hard work and industriousness, the farming's capitalization was strengthened via the direct intervention and the much needed financial assistance from a member of Namujhe family working in Australia. Coupled with loans from financial banks as well as friends' help in the citrus farming in exchange for seedlings for labor, that led to the planting of a variety of Mandarin Orange, Satsuma oranges among others.

As farming and business were in good tandem, the farms were able to purchase needed a mini truck and one forward transport vehicles for said oranges.
